Since June 24, 2025, the Chocolate Museum Cologne (Schokoladenmuseum Köln) has featured a redesigned permanent exhibition dedicated to the history and culture of cocoa and chocolate.
Visitors can follow chocolate’s journey from ancient Mesoamerican cocoa cultivation to modern production.
The exhibition includes archaeological artifacts, historic tools, 20th-century advertisements, and interactive displaysdemonstrating each step of chocolate making — from roasting cocoa beans to molding bars.
Founded in 1993, the museum attracts more than 600,000 visitors annually and remains one of Germany’s most popular museums.
Located in Rheinauhafen, it also houses the iconic Lindt chocolate fountain, where guests can taste fresh liquid chocolate.
Open daily 10 AM–6 PM (closed Mondays).
